An online literary salon | 8 writers | 8 minutes each

A 90-minute live gathering where writers share original work exploring motherhood in all its forms. Come listen, connect, and be in the room.

Writing About Motherhood

October 21st | 5:00–6:30 PM PST | Live on Zoom (recording available)

Motherhood is not one thing, and it’s rarely a simple thing.

It can be biological or chosen. It can arrive early or late or not at all.
It can be something you’re inside of, something you’ve lost, something you’re still longing for, something you’re actively resisting.
It can be about your mother.
It can be about your mother’s mother.

On October 21st, we’re gathering to sit inside all of it–the messiness, the holiness, the complexity of motherhood in all its forms.

We’ll hear from 8 writers, each sharing up to 8 minutes of their work. Some pieces may be raw, some more finished, some never read aloud before.

You don’t need to have it figured out (the motherhood or the writing). You only need to be willing to sit in the space of sharing it.

Wed, Oct 21 â€¢ 5 PM PDT

Pay-What-You-Wish Donation Ticket
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Moms for Moms NYC, an organization that supports single mothers living in abusive, homeless, and low-income situations at one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives: immediately after childbirth. Moms for Moms provides critical care packages, ensuring women have what they need to heal and care for their children safely. Nearly half (45%) of single mothers live below the poverty line. Your participation helps support a too-often overlooked demographic.

What To Expect

Tickets are limited to keep the space intimate and intentional.

The writers show up with real vulnerability, and in response, we meet them with presence and care and curiosity.

We have so little of one another now. This space is about giving our most valuable assets to one another: time and attention.

Thank you for your support and for your courage, I can’t wait to hear your words!
